Has anyone ever bought a watch off of Amazon? I’m interested in buying one from them (mainly because I can pick it up at a Locker rather than FedEx/UPS/USPS losing my shit) but there are occasional reviews of fake ones. Should I just avoid Amazon, save up for another couple months and then buy from the brand itself?
And yes, I like minimal watches rather than the big, bulky, super-mechanical ones you guys have.
Come at me.

If the seller is Amazon.com, you will be fine.

Depends on the seller. If it’s an actual name brand company selling thru amazon or amazon themseld, you should be fine

OK, guess I’ll be looking elsewhere haha. Thanks.

The sneaky secret about Amazon is the Marketplace, which is just like eBay’s Buy It Now, even if Amazon does the shipping. Sometimes you buy something from Amazon, sometimes it’s directly from the company, and sometimes it’s from a guy clearing out his stuff. You will always know who the seller is however.

Thanks, just looked through the ones I was interested in. None are from Amazon themselves.

just make sure you buy from a good vendor. if it’s a actual brand watch make sure there is serial numbers provided so you can registered them with the maker, if any issues arise return it. amazon makes that very easy it’s almost no risk.

Thanks! Might try this.

If you like what is pictured, it is a Daniel Wellington, and I think they sell them on Amazon.

I bought one off Amazon for my dad’s bday present earlier this year. I liked it so much I bought myself one. Had no issues whatsoever. (It was quite a bit cheaper when I bought it last year).

I bought a few Seikos on Amazon, no complaints. 3 actually, including a 2nd gen Monster.
Sadly, Seiko doesn’t sell the cool ones (I love automatic watches) in the U.S., so you must go “grey market” (third party buys them to sell to us). The last one I bought was a $350 Seiko Presage that was sold to the Japanese market (has kanji/english day/date wheel). Great watch and very authentic. And, I also had it shipped to a Amazon Locker, no worries there.
The key to getting what you want is taking the time to research the seller’s feedback like another comment stated. I would rather pay a little more for a seller with better feedback, just sayin...

Yup I am looking at them, but some of them have reviews of fake products.

I’m looking at Daniel Wellington, one of which is pictured above. The prices on Amazon are pretty much half of what the retail price is, so that’s another reason why I’m skeptic. No idea if this link will work.

Buy from amazon - of fake, just return it. I bought my Tag Heuer, my Wenger, my G Shocks, few Seikos, few Skagens....no issues at all.

Oh that’s a fun summer watch. I wouldn’t worry about it, 3rd party sell but fulfilled by amazon. This is almost no risk. Also no one fakes a Daniel Wellington, that’s like faking an invicta it doesn’t happen no money in it.

I just bought a Timex Weekender (~$60) off Amazon because I’m going to Morocco in a few months and didn’t want to take my nice watch. The Timex showed up right when I thought it would and was in great shape. I’m wearing it now and am very pleased.

I’ve never had an issue with anything, including $5k+ items, on Amazon. If you have any issues, they will make it right.

Lol, I think I did get it on Kinja deals...

I actually think I remember seeing that deal advertised at one point. Can't blame you, $60 is $60!

I bought a Panerai looking watch on Amazon for $45 for my brother, regularly it goes for $90. The thing is amazing! Doesn’t really look like a Panerai, but close, and people love the thing when they see it. Well built. Heavy, and keeps good time.
There are some good finds on Amazon if you make the effort.

I clicked the link the other day to see the listing for the watch you are looking at and now LITERALLY EVERY FUCKING AD ON MY PHONE IS FOR THIS DAMN WATCH. THANK YOU.

Yeah but then I have to re-sign-in to Kinja which is a royal pain in the ass, I’d rather just look at the damn watch ads lol

Better than dildo ads!

Except that one is unavoidable because its shared from Kinja deals or whatever... I got it the other day. At least the illustration is clever!

Yeah that happened to me too.
Regarding OP, do it. I really want to get a nato band watch so I can get a bunch of straps to swap. I like the simple ones too, the 2 watches I have that I wear are both simple with leather bands
